The Embracing Hmong Women Identities Summit provides a space for Hmong women students in higher education to openly speak about their experiences as individuals of multiple identities.
Through an awareness of intersectionality, we can better learn about who we are as Hmong women in higher education and acknowledge the differences and similarities we all embody. We understand that within our generation, there is a paradigm shift in how we come to understand ourselves as Hmong American women in higher education. We acknowledge the social, cultural, financial, and systemic barriers that stand in our way; but we also recognize that through our narratives and resilience, we already have the critical tools to overcome these barriers. |
